Abstract (en)
The improvement of sustainable mobility in urban areas implies the
reduction of motorized traffic and the development of infrastructure that
supports alternative modes of transport, such as cycling. The incorporation
of cycling infrastructure within already developed urban areas plays a key
role in promoting cycling as a sustainable mode of transport. However, the
existing urban environment requires careful and systematic analysis of
current infrastructure, as well as an assessment of the possibilities for
positioning cycling facilities.
Within this dissertation, an algorithm was developed for determining
the optimal position and type of cycling surface within the existing crosssection
of an urban street. The algorithm consists of several phases,
including data collection, classification, and analysis of geometric and
traffic characteristics of urban streets. The algorithm was tested on 21
streets in the city of Niš, including access, collector, and arterial roads.
Data on geometric and traffic elements of the analyzed streets were
obtained from the Urban Planning Institute of the City of Niš.
The analysis of results showed that the algorithm performed
efficiently and proposed a type and position of cycling surface for 18
streets, while 3 streets did not meet the required criteria. The algorithm
also demonstrated that most of the analyzed streets, despite spatial
limitations, have potential for the integration of cycling traffic. The
application of the algorithm enabled systematic and objective decisionmaking
and solution development in the planning of new or reconstruction
of existing urban streets.

“Data exchange” service offers individual users metadata transfer in several different formats. Citation formats are offered for transfers in texts as for the transfer into internet pages. Citation formats include permanent links that guarantee access to cited sources. For use are commonly structured metadata schemes : Dublin Core xml and ETUB-MS xml, local adaptation of international ETD-MS scheme intended for use in academic documents.
