Abstract (en)
The dissertation titled The Women’s Issue in the Leskovački glasnik
Magazine (1921–1941) aims to examine how the issue of women was
represented in the Leskovac weekly Leskovački glasnik, a newspaper
focused on trade, crafts, agriculture, education, and social life during
the period 1921 – 1941. The purpose of analyzing newspaper articles
that deal with the woman’s issue, women's rights, women's
emancipation, or that portray women in any context is to demonstrate
that newspaper texts, as a practice of signification, are aligned with
the cultural and ideological constructs of a patriarchal society. For the
purposes of this research, a general scientific method was applied,
analyzing relevant literature and previous research in the field. A
qualitative content analysis was used for the texts, while a
quantitative method served to determine the scope of the
representation of women's issue in Leskovački glasnik. The unit of
analysis was individual newspaper articles. The main conclusion is
that the woman’s issue in Leskovački glasnik (1921–1941) was
represented in a stereotypical manner. Male and female experiences
were separated by a clear boundary between the public and private
spheres. A critical view of the media, media literacy, that is, an
understanding of media practices and the ways in which social
dogmas are transmitted – combined with an awareness that these are
social constructs and not naturally given, constitutes the first step
toward a broader perception of social reality and toward
understanding identity as a fluid entity, not predetermined by biology
or social conventions.

“Data exchange” service offers individual users metadata transfer in several different formats. Citation formats are offered for transfers in texts as for the transfer into internet pages. Citation formats include permanent links that guarantee access to cited sources. For use are commonly structured metadata schemes : Dublin Core xml and ETUB-MS xml, local adaptation of international ETD-MS scheme intended for use in academic documents.
