Abstract (en)
Under normal circumstances, the orofacial system is protected from excessive strain and disease by precise proprioceptive control and neuromuscular regulation, as well as exceptional tissue adaptability. This sensitive system can be disturbed by the presence of forces acting on the teeth and their supporting tissues, or by lowering the tolerance threshold, ie by lowering the defense capabilities of the tissues themselves. This study investigates temporomandibular disorders in the elderly. The study consists of questionnaires, clinical and radiological examinations performed by multidetector computed tomography. The main topics of this study are the occurrence of clinical symptoms and signs of temporomandibular disorders, occlusal status and radiological findings of condyles in the elderly population and their relationship. The data obtained by radiological findings, as well as the status of occlusal contacts, do not indicate that occlusal contacts have an impact on the radiological findings of computed tomography on condyles in the elderly population.

“Data exchange” service offers individual users metadata transfer in several different formats. Citation formats are offered for transfers in texts as for the transfer into internet pages. Citation formats include permanent links that guarantee access to cited sources. For use are commonly structured metadata schemes : Dublin Core xml and ETUB-MS xml, local adaptation of international ETD-MS scheme intended for use in academic documents.
