Abstract (en)
Regional development of Serbia is not able to meet global demands of the modern world market. Inherited problems from past, such as polarization, depopulation, and the other regional unevenness only were stringent by process of transition since 2000. In fact, regional disparities have grown into one of the biggest development issues that we face, among them are the negative demographic trends, especially the decrease in the birth rate and depopulation of huge expanses on one side and oversized and problematic concentration of population in urban centers on the other.
Recent official document that treated this problem was Strategy of regional development, which includes period of 2007-2012. However, since this problem is growing and getting worse, it is necessary to always keep the current strategy, with updated facts and concrete actions for the next period.
Region of Raska has always been part of traditionally undeveloped areas, but also unjustly neglected in infrastructure and any other terms. Because of that candidate will try to indicate the possibilities and highlight the untapped benefits of Raska district. That way we can explore the possibility of the development of the overall economy, not only in this region.
