Ph.D. thesis includes experimental and numerical methods in order to predict the behavior of graphite slide bearings in the real exploitation conditions. Applying some experimental researches, identification of partial impact of certain design parameters of the sliding bearings with graphite was carried out, as well as their mutual correlations. By means of certain experimental methods the real loading exploitation parameters were determined and the validation of development methodology was carried out.
Numerical methods were used to simulate the behavior of the exploitation sliding bearings with graphite. Thermo-mechanical analysis was performed, using ANSYS FEA software. The numerical results obtained by software simulation were compared with the results obtained by conducted experiments. Scientific contribution of the dissertation is reflected in the following: in defined methodologies of development of sliding bearings with graphite, identification of the dominant design parameters of the sliding bearings with graphite in terms of tribological properties, in thermo-mechanical analysis of a complex assembly reservoir sleeve - bronze / graphite, in experimental investigation of tribological properties of graphite sliding bearings and in experimental validation of the development methodology of sliding bearings with graphite.
